What is the JCC's Personal Training program philosophy?
We will teach you safe & effective exercise habits that will work for you! We want to empower you with the knowledge and skills you need to exercise effectively and to develop a healthy lifestyle.

What kind of activities would I do during a workout?
Your trainer will have you perform activities or exercises to develop muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular fitness and flexibility; but depending on your goals, you may also do activities to develop coordination, balance, power, or agility. Our trainers have a variety of skills to provide you with options so that your workouts stay FUN and exciting!

Can my kids work out with me?
You must be at least 16 years old to be in the Fitness Center or teens, 13 - 15 years old, may take three Personal Training sessions for a Certificate of Achievement and receive a membership card early.  Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in the Fitness Center.

How can I get my children involved in a healthy lifestyle they will like?
Are you a parent that feels your child watches too much TV or plays too many video games? A youth personal training program has been developed for 8-15 year olds that need guidance in how to live and lead a healthier lifestyle. We will educate youth on proper nutrition, cardiovascular health and how exercise can be fun! This is an excellent opportunity to learn early on the important role that fitness plays in all aspects of life. Training will take place in the gymnasium, field, pool or group exercise studio.

Each session is 45 minutes. $45/session or $10 for each additional child with a maximum of four children per training session.

How do I arrange Personal Training sessions?
You can look at the Trainers bios below to find a trainer that may fit your style and experience.  Then call Chasen Booher, Fitness and Wellness Director, at 858-362-1340 to set up a time and date to meet with the trainer.

Can I train with a friend or a small group of people?
This option is ideal for friends wishing to begin a new fitness plan together or for extra motivation. It is also a great way to share the expense by splitting the cost. Each additional person is $10/session.
